Maria v dragus

Maria is a Romanian-German actress based in Paris. She was born on a hot August day, and her first love was the theater. Trained as a dancer, she was discovered at the age of 13 by acclaimed director Michael Haneke for his film The White Ribbon. That film launched her career and “made her realize what she wants to do for the rest of her life.”

Since then, she has continued to work across European cinema, collaborating with directors such as Cristian Mungiu, Emily Atef, and Tim Van Patten and with acting colleagues such as Saoirse Ronan, Margot Robbie and Michael Douglas.

Her passion lies in transformative performances—minimalist and precise. Perhaps a remnant of her dancing days.

In her free time, she values privacy.
